"We got it"
It's said a picture is worth a thousand words.....this is an apt description for the images by renowned photographer Norm Clasen. As a free-lance photographer, Norm has traveled the globe recording events, man, nature, horses and the world around us. With a highly successful career spanning five decades, he is passionate about his work. His images have appeared in magazines and media worldwide. One of the most memorable periods in his career was photographing for the Leo Burnett Advertising Agency, their "Marlboro" campaign. His work for them spanned over 12 years where he produced 100's of ads and billboards. The Marlboro campaign is considered the most recognizable and iconic ever produced. Guided by the talented art directors of the agency, it lasted almost half a century with the same theme.
Norm has continued his love affair with the West, focusing on the magnificent horses that roam our ranches and plains. Marveling at their sheer power, grace and beauty, Clasen captures the magic of horses in full flight as dust swirls around them and their manes float in the air. Few images are too challenging for Norm. He loves filming in dust, rain or snow and pushing light to its limit while creating some of his most alluring images. Norm's work creates an artistic aura. Much of his work takes on a painting-like quality and is always done with natural light. Constantly striving to reflect the timeless nature of his images, he produces distinctive works of photographic art that are classic, evoking a soft and grainy feeling that gives them a special presence.
